What's a Mommy Makeover?

A Mommy Makeover is a cosmetic surgical procedure customized by renowned board-certified Orlando plastic surgeon Dr. Scott Rotatori especially for you. It combines several cosmetic surgical treatments to improve the specific areas of your body affected by pregnancy or aging. Mommy Makeovers in Orlando and Winter Park typically include the following surgical areas:

  • Breasts
  • Abdomen
  • Hips
  • Thighs

Common Mommy Makeover procedures in Orlando and Winter Park include breast augmentation, breast lifts, tummy tuck and/or liposuction. However, it’s important to note that each Mommy Makeover is customized to meet your specific goals and desired finished look.

Dr. Rotatori consults with hundreds of women to restore their body to a state they love every year via Mommy Makeover surgery. With over 30 years of experience, training and education, Dr. Rotatori understands that every woman’s body is different. That’s how he and his expert Orlando medical team are able to formulate a customized Mommy Makeover plan to suit your body’s specific cosmetic needs.

Self Care for You with a Mommy Makeover

It can be a little daunting to think about taking time out of your busy schedule to recover from Mommy Makeover surgery. Our patients often express they feel it’s too “selfish” to focus on their appearance and dedicate a few weeks of recovery time to healing after their procedure. After undergoing their Mommy Makeover surgery, however, their perspective typically changes.

Many of our Mommy Makeover patients report feeling better about themselves than they have in ages – even better than they had thought possible. “Energized,” “rejuvenated” and “ecstatic” are just some of the words our Mommy Makeover patients frequently use to describe their experience and feelings.

Looking younger, feeling more confident and having a more positive outlook are all results common among our Mommy Makeover patients. Some of our patients even express they’re ultimately able to give and do more for their families after taking Mommy Makeover time for themselves.

The Mommy Makeover Process

A Mommy Makeover is tailored to your individual desires and goals. Your Mommy Makeover starts when you request a free consultation with Dr. Rotatori to review your goals, discuss your options, schedule your procedures, and discuss your healing and follow-up plan to achieve your best results.

During Mommy Makeover Surgery
The surgical techniques used during a Mommy Makeover vary based on the condition of each of the body parts you wish to improve.

For example, common breast issues include sagging, loose skin and/or a loss of volume. Surgeries that can address these issues include breast reduction surgery, breast augmentation and/or breast lifts. For many, a combination of these techniques creates a youthful, beautiful post-pregnancy breast appearance. The most common example is a breast augmentation with a lift.

For the lower body, it is normal to see loose skin, surface irregularities such as stretch marks or persistent exercise-resistant pockets of fat. These trouble areas can be addressed with surgical solutions such as liposuction combined with excess skin removal or “lifting” the remaining skin to a new position.

A Mommy Makeover typically covers a sizable area of the body. It is considered an invasive surgery and in many cases will require an overnight stay at the surgery center. The surgery is performed under general anesthesia in an accredited surgical facility and can take 3 hours or longer to complete.

Mommy Makeover Results
Results typically allow patients to enjoy a body that is tighter, smoother and sexier. Most women find the road to recovery to be a slow process. Because walking upright will be difficult in the first several weeks, patients are recommended to take it slow, especially early on in their recovery phase.

Depending on what was addressed during surgery, it could take between 6 months to a year for the final results to appear. However, most patients can go back to a normal routine in an average of 3 weeks. Note that exercise is discouraged until at least 6-8 weeks after surgery.
